Maldives Anniversary Trip

We just got back from our trip last night and our trip was absolutely amazing!  It was incredibly relaxing and the sun was just what we needed.  The island was beautiful and the views never got old.

We had just gotten to the resort from the airport and were getting checked in.
One of the many beautiful scenes of the beaches.
Lots of Palm Trees and Blue Skies!
This was our Jacuzzi and our open air bathroom.  The bathroom was one of our favorite parts!  We really got used to showering outside!!
This was right outside our Beach Villa.  The water villas are right behind us.
The hammocks were scattered all over the island and were so wonderful to sit and relax in.
We went out every night to the bar over the water called Sundowners to watch the sunset.  It was great!  The breeze and scenery was beautiful.
Jay swimming while I lay on the beach.  We rented snorkel equipment and swam around the island.  There was an amazing reef basically right where Jay is. A little farther out it gets a little deeper and the fish were so colorful. We saw a couple sea turtles too!
When we wanting a break from the beach we went to the pool.  There was a bar on the other side of the pool behind Jay.  It was a lot of fun to sit at and hang out.
A sting ray and a sea slug (at least that is what we called it!)
These are the Black Tip Sharks that are all over the island.  While snorkeling several swam by us.  They leave you alone which I was grateful for!
My handsome husband on our Anniversary night!  We celebrated on the 19th since on our actual anniversary we will not be able to be together because of his work schedule.
Another picture of the 2 of us on our Anniversary Night.
Jay relaxing on the beach!  We did that a lot!
Taking a stroll around the island.  The water was so pretty and clear.
These views never got old!
This was at Sundowners on our last night.  It was clear enough that night that we were able to see the sunset.  Most of the other nights it was kind of cloudy right around sunset.  It was a nice close to the vacation!
The sunset on our last night.
This was an amazing trip and we are both so excited to get to go!  This was such an amazing way to spend our Anniversary!

Maldives

So Jay and I are leaving tomorrow night for our 1 year Anniversary trip...even though it is 2 months early.  Jay was able to get the leave and so we booked it!  This is actually where we wanted to go for our Honeymoon but we couldn't get the time off so our 1 year Anniversary is just as good!!  We are staying at the Bandos Resort in the Maldives!  This is our island!
This is where we are staying...Jacuzzi Beach Villa, complete with an open air bathroom and all!
We plan on having some cocktails at the Sundowners Bar as well!!

And of course lots of beach laying, snorkling, and lots of other relaxing yet fun filled things!  Don't worry, lots of pictures will be taken and we will post them when we get back!!

Prague

We took a trip over MLK weekend to Prague.  There were 8 of us and we were celebrating our friend Amy's Birthday. It was a really fun weekend.  I hadn't been there before and had heard lots of great things!  It was really cold and snowed a little but had some feet warmers to put in our shoes and were all bundled up, so it was fun.

This is the view from Charles Bridge looking at Prague Castle. It is a huge complex with a beautiful Cathedral but I have to say the view from the bridge at night was breathtaking!
The girls on Charles Bridge.  This was our first night before heading to dinner. We were all pretty tired since we had to leave Bury at 5:00 am but we had fun none the less.  The first night just wasn't a late night for any of us!
The girls on Charles Bridge at night.  It was cold and hadn't quite really snowing yet but you can really see it in the pictures with the guys.
The Boys on Charles Bridge.  I love how you can see the snow falling.
Charles Bridge in the Day.  We were a little disappointed that the bridge had some construction going on but it was still really pretty.
This is when we were touring the Prague Castle.  There were some great views!
Lindsay, Amy, and I after dinner.
The girls had a night out to celebrate Amy's Birthday.  While we were exploring the first day we found this Bar called "Bed". We immediately thought of the Sex and the City episode were the girls went to the opening of the bar "Bed" and couldn't resist trying it out. We had such a blast.  For most of the night we were the only ones there which was even more fun.  It was nice and relaxing, there were TV's, and pillows.  It was great.  The boys joined us towards the end because we wanted to make sure they experienced Bed!
Jay and I along the river.
Lindsay, Chris, Jay and I climbed the Clock Tower and got some great pictures of the city.
We were trying to get one of both us and Jay was being sweet.  I liked the picture a lot!
We took a lot more pictures but I there is not enough room for them all here.  Hopefully everyone enjoys the highlights!

It's been a while!

It has been a while since I've updated the blog, partly because there has been a lot going on and partly because I'm lazy!  So here is a brief, hopefully, update on what has been going on since the last time I posted.  Christmas was a lot of fun for the most part.  The only thing that made it not fun for "the whole part" was that fact that Jay and I had to spend it apart.  He was gone with his Squadron for work for about 3 weeks over Christmas & New Year's.  So I ended up going home to spend the Holiday's with my family in North Carolina.  It was an adventure getting there but once I finally did we all had a blast.  I was able to go to a wedding of some really good friends of ours while I was there which made it that much better.

Evan and Lauren in front of our Christmas tree...check out all those presents!  Mostly for them!!
Dad, Sally, & I at the Taylor's for Christmas dinner.
Mom and I at Christmas Dinner.
Evan & Lauren on Christmas morning.  I have to say that watching Christmas happen through a child's eyes really makes it so incredible!!
This is Jay and I in front of our tree that we set up before he left.  It also ended up being our Christmas Card, our rather late Christmas card though!

Since Christmas we were able to take a trip to Prague over MLK weekend with some friends which I'll post pictures for that later.  We also hosted a party to celebrate the Engagement of some good friends here last weekend.  In 2 weeks will be taking an early Anniversary trip to the Maldives and then I'll head to the states for a couple days for a close friends wedding.  We should find out in a week or two where we will be moving to this summer so I'll make sure to update everyone when we do!  These next few months are going to go by extremely fast and our time in England is coming to a close.  Jay and I extremely excited to start this next stage and to see what God has in store for us!  I promise to post again soon and more regularly!
